Easy Fresh Grilled Mahi Mahi Fish Tacos Recipe

Ingredients (Serves 4 - 5)
Time: Under 30 Minutes

  • 1/4 cup butter, melted

  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder

  • 1 /2 teaspoons onion powder

  • 2 pounds of mahi mahi, boneless and skinless

  • Corn tortillas

  • Grilled Mahi Mahi Fish Taco Filling

  • 1 jar of green salsa with jalpenos and garlic

  • Cabbage, shredded (red, green, or both for added color)

  • Fresh cilantro, chopped

  • White onion, chopped

  • 1 avocado, sliced

  • Pepperjack cheese, shredded

  • Directions

Preheat grill for high heat (400 degrees F).

In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, garlic and onion powder.

Brush each side of your mahi mahi fish with the spiced butter.

Clean and lightly oil grill grate. Grill mahi mahi 3 - 4 minutes per side or until it flakes easily with a fork. Flip only once. Let it rest 1 minute before flaking it for the fish tacos.

    Grilling Tip:
Do not overcook mahi mahi. It is better to remove it sooner than later from the grill than risk drying it out. It will finish cooking through after it is removed from the grill. Like most fish, you can tell when mahi mahi is ready to flip because it will no longer stick to the grate.

OPTIONAL: The last few minutes of grilling throw your corn tortillas on the grill just long enough to get light charring on each side of them.

To make tacos: Top each corn tortilla with green salsa, flaked mahi mahi, shredded cabbage, chopped fresh cilantro, chopped white onions, a slice of avocado, and some shredded pepperjack cheese.
