Grilling Tips for Cooking Turkey Burgers Recipes

Turkey burgers are leaner and lower in calories than other meats, which tends to make them less flavorful. They also have the habit of drying out on the grill and overcooking on the outside while being undercooked on the inside. We're going to change all that. Use these tips for grilling burgers with turkey to take them from tasting flat and boring to fabulous:

1. Preheat grill for medium-heat (350 degrees F). Most recipes recommend medium-high heat or higher but this presents the problem of burning your burgers on the outside while waiting for the inside to cook properly.

They will take a little longer on the grill but using this method can make the difference between burnt and dry or moist and juicy turkey burger recipes.

2. Grill time: 30 - 35 minutes total, flipping once half-way through. Medium done (150 degrees F, slightly pink in the middle), well done (160 degrees F, white all the way through).

3. To solve the leaner means less flavor with turkey burgers problem, add extra ingredients to boost the flavor and moisture. In all our burger recipes with turkey you will notice added ingredients like crushed herbs, bread crumbs, shredded cheese, and grated fruit.

4. Our personal secret to moist, juicy turkey burgers is to place a grill safe bowl filled with 1/2 cup apple cider or juice inside the grill while grilling turkey burgers. Try it! The steam makes your burgers more moist and the apple aroma infuses the burgers with a subtle flavor that compliments turkey perfectly.
